China just recently conducted a survey on food safety and environmental issues. According to the survey 60.7 percent of respondents were concerned about the safety of their food, the survey went on to indicate that the citizens of China are worried about the enviornmental impact of pollution on the food supply.
The survey “2007 Environmental Protection and People’s Livelihood Index” conducted by the China Enviornmental Culture Promotion Association, which is also affiliated with the State Environmental Protection Administration (SEPA) had 9011 respondents from 29 provinces and autonomous regions. Please see the article from China View for complete details.
What is interesting to me is that more than 80% of the people say they are happy with the governments efforts to protect the enviornment yet they are concerned about the environmental pollution. I wonder if they are happy with the government just because it is the right thing to say about the government. Would we get the same response here in the USA?
